I have a friend who is a prominent photographer in the Conventry, UK area who has taken upon himself the task of educating the less than photo-able amateurs with the basic information that every photog, both amateur and professional, should know.
A great read that introduces the reader to the mechanics of camera work and the involvement needed to compose great pictures. Marc takes you through each aspect of trying to capture the perfect image, explaining how composition, depth of field and exposures affect your shots. He also elaborates on lens selection, advanced photography techniques like macro photography and HDR, goes into some depth on what to and not to do in post processing, and even how to break the rules to be edgy and different.
