New Big Room House Mix – October 1st 2010 – First Ever Ustream.tv Broadcast

Big Room House Mix from the l0ckd0wn show, October 1st, 2010.

A slightly out-of-character mix that I did to showcase some more poppy, upbeat house tunes.  A lot of Latin, tribal and mainstream house for you iPod.

This was a live broadcast on www.faderwave.net and started at 7PM PST / 10PM EST.  We recently switched broadcasting hosts to Ustream.tv and this was my first live broadcast of my weekly show, so there is some talk over on one of the tracks in the middle, and at the end of the mix.  Tracklist is included in HTML format so right click and “save as” to download the file for reference.  This was a one shot, so no edits other than normalization for consistent volume.  File is tagged properly and will play in any mp3 player.

44100 320CBR MP3 – 2 hrs

Older Unpublished Mixes

I haven’t posted much other than my twitter feed for some time now. I’ve been lazy, unmotivated and uninspired – at least with writing regularly. So, to break that vicious circle I am posting up some links to the last few mixes I’ve made. Most are 2-4 hours in length and are all standard 44100 MP3s that should play in any media player. All shows were from live broadcasts on www.faderwave.net . Come chat live every Friday night from 7PM PST / 10PM EST @ www.stickam.com/faderwaveradio . Many young, talented and unknown artists spinning good tunes throughout your week.

As promised, here are those mixes:

June 4, 2010 – Tech, Prog, Tribal House
June 4 Track List

March 26, 2010 – Tech & Prog House
March 26 Track List

March 19, 2010 – Tech & Electro House
March 19 Track List

Look for new mixes in the next coming month. Will be releasing some shorter 1 hour focus mixes so stay tuned!

Kenneth Thomas’ Podcast Obsessions

Kenneth Thomas

Kenneth Thomas - Kenneth Thomas presents Obsessions

Kenneth Thomas

Kenneth Thomas is without doubt one of the most promising young DJs in the electronic scene right now. There’s an intelligence and a well defined style to his sets. He’s quickly emerging as one to watch in the next generation of superstar DJs”. When Paul Oakenfold has this to say about someone people can tend to stop and take a listen. Following in an elite class consisting of Dave Ralph, D:Fuse & Hernan Cattaneo, its seems every 5 years or so Oakenfold hand picks a future star to take under his wing and the latest selection is Kenneth Thomas. Hailing out of the Detroit, the birthplace of Techno, KT stands out with his emotional and melodic sound. Some might not see the connection of Detroit to his sound, but the connection is there. The same aggression that spawned the early techno sounds of the 90′s is the fuel that fires Kenneth to explore the emotional side of the musical experience. Music has always been a spiritual place for Kenneth and because the depth of dance music goes well beyond a conscious level, there’s an underlying exploration and experience in every set and track.

Beyond traveling the globe, Kenneth has also become a juggernaut in the studio over the past 3 years having completed over 40 tracks and remixes for labels including Baroque, Armada, Om, Perfecto, Cuurve, Alter Ego, Hope and more. Now, busy working on his second EP for Markus Schulzs’ Coldharbour Recordings and coming off recent remixes for David Guetta, Jan Johnston, Oliver Moldan, Jeff Mills and even Scott Wieland, we have seen this ‘Dj at heart’ break new ground in the areas of production. And now beyond DJing & producing, KT is also A&R for Perfecto Records and is helping spearhead the renaissance of one of the greatest labels dance music has ever seen. The future is bright for Kenneth. Touring regularly around the world sharing his blend of progressive minded dance music, his focus has never changed since day one, “This is the most amazing sound I have ever encountered, I just want to share it with as many people as possible.” – The DJ List

This is House 2009 – Mixed by Marc Stokes

“This is House 2009″ is here. The last 5 years I’ve done one of these in the 1st week of January and all have been welcomed with great feedback.  I do hope this year is no different! It’s a mixture of vocal, funky and disco sounds as always with my stuff. This year I’ve also done a Bonus 50min Jackin house cd which is based on the sound of 1920′s Swing music, Zoot suits at the ready on that one.  320KBps CBR 44,100Hz Stereo.
